Effective Communication, Active Listening and Presentation Skills

Introduction

Many of the problems that occur in an organization are the direct result of people failing to communicate.
Faulty communication causes the most problems. It leads to confusion and can cause a good plan to fail.
Communication is the exchange and flow of information and ideas from one person to another.
Studying the communication process is important because you coach, coordinate, counsel, evaluate, and supervise through this process.
It is the chain of understanding that integrates the members of an organization from top to bottom, bottom to top, and side to side.

Objectives

For participants to realise that Effective Communication is an essential skill that needs to be practised.
By the end of this workshop participants will have the necessary understanding and capability to develop, implement, and monitor a people-focused communication system at each level of supervision in their organisation.
Each participant will have:-
   Understood common barriers to communication
   Analysed their active listening skills
   Practised active listening
   Analysed their communication style
   Developed a communication plan

This workshop builds awareness of the components of effective communication, including clarity, lack of ambiguity, freedom from barriers, active listening and positive presentation of the communication. The skills under discussion are practiced in role plays during the workshop but the need for liflelong improvement through practice and applcation is impressed upon the participants.
